Hindsight...

"Hindsight is always 20/20".... we all know that fall back retort. However, from time to time it is enlightening to review what we are looking at in the rear view mirror to see if we got it right. It is particularly interesting in this moment because well, we are back to the future with Covid precautions, requirements and responses.  Restaurants have been hard hit and that world is forever changed.  In my view, some other changes will also be here to stay.    The shifting work force dynamic, tele-health, supply chain interuption and other Pandemic gifts will impact us going forward.  There are some structural changes that have not yet been identified I am sure.

On a somewhat lighter note, I have shared a post from our friends at Christies.  This post was written almost a year ago.  It is titled Escapism at a Distance: What's in Store for the Future of Restaurants.  Sadly, restaurant owners and workers have born much of the brunt of this past year. This article is fun and enlightening regarding some of the options out there for restaurants of the future. I thought it particularly timely as today New York City begins requiring proof of vaccine to enter a restaurant or gym. Two steps forward, one step back.
