The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach was built in 1947 during the post war construction boom. The hotel enjoyed a rich past as a staple in the Palm Beach social scene. Prior guests include Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Lena Horne, Sophia Loren and John Lennon.
After a number of lean years that saw the property fall on harder times, the hotel has undergone a renaissance. All 89 guest rooms and suites have been redesigned with the Palm Beach panache expected and delivered by Kemble Interiors.
Andrew and Sarah Wetenhall, the son and daughter in law of the prior owner, Bob Wetenhall bought the Hotel a few years ago, with Sarah as the President and CEO who oversaw the renovations and updates. Sarah has also enticed venerable Swifty’s restaurant of NYC to open as the hotel’s culinary destination. For her efforts, Sarah was recently named among the top 10 independent hoteliers globally.
Great to see the younger generation putting their mark on the Pink Paradise. Let’s meet at The Colony for a drink by the pool and dinner at Swifty’s!
