Pete Dye. A name that can conjure fear in the hearts of grown men and women. Either you love his courses, usually after shooting a low score, or, more often than not, you are left muttering incoherently as you make your way from the clubhouse to your car after being humbled by bunker after bunker after bunker.
With this in mind, what better venue to host this week’s Ryder Cup than the Dye masterpiece in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Depending upon the wind coming off mighty Lake Michigan, weather, and the usual variables, Whistling Straits will surely challenge the world’s best.
SI Morning Read has written an overview breaking down each hole that offers insight into what the Euros and the Yanks will be up against. It is a good read in preparation for this week’s fireworks. Please note, the term “deep bunker” is repeated quite often. For more CLICK HERE
